(NEWS) CBN Govern Emefiele has confirmed Arabic inscription on Naira notes will remain
Muhammadu Sanusi the former Emir of Kano has conclude that the Arabic inscription written on Naira note which is known as ‘Ajami’ would not be remove from redesigning process which may soon comes up to the Central bank program.
The redesigning of the Naira have drawn so many attention from Nigerians over the Arabic word, weather it will be remove or remain on the note. Some argue that is not the official language and should immediately delete for the purpose of legal tender while others stand that it has to remain on the Naira notes.
According to Daily newspaper, Sanusi make this known to Nigerians over the CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele comment on the arise issue that the Arabic inscription will not be removed from the redesigned naira notes.
There has been rumour going on around about the change of the Naira notes, which seem some top Islamic scholars dropping comment, with some implying that the Ajami word would be removed on the notes.“When the misconception becomes widespread, I spoke to the CBN governor himself, and he also confirmed to me that there is no plan whatsoever to remove the Ajami. So, I want to appeal to Islamic scholars to please stop acting on unsubstantiated reports. I know some of the scholars making these comments are doing so without investigating the information brought to them.”
