Twitter, Inc. is a social media company headquartered in San Francisco, California, that runs the popular social networking service Twitter. In the past, the company also managed the Vine short video app and the Periscope live streaming service.

It was established on March 21, 2006, in San Francisco by its four founders, Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, Biz Stone, and Noah Glass. Twitter has various subsidiaries, including Twitter Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. and Twitter France SAS. As of October 27, 2022, Elon Musk is the current CEO of Twitter.

Elon Musk remains in the spotlight as Twitter confirms that portions of its source code were leaked online. Additionally, reports suggest that Mr. Musk has communicated to Twitter employees that the company’s worth is less than half the $44bn (£36bn) he paid for it in 2022.

Regarding the removal of content, GitHub, the platform where the code was allegedly leaked, typically refrains from commenting on such decisions. However, in the interest of transparency, a spokesperson for GitHub informed the BBC that they publicly share all DMCA takedown requests.

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), which was signed into law in the United States in 1998, aims to protect copyrighted material on the internet.

As a co-founder of PayPal, a widely used online payment system, Elon Musk has played a significant role in shaping the digital landscape. He later founded SpaceX, a space exploration company with a goal of colonizing Mars and making space travel more accessible. He is also the founder of Tesla, an electric car company that has revolutionized the automobile industry, and The Boring Company, which aims to reduce traffic congestion through the construction of underground tunnels.

Twitter has called on GitHub to provide information on the individual or group behind the account that leaked the code, which goes by the name FreeSpeechEnthusiast.

Twitter, headquartered in San Francisco, stated in a filing that the account had violated the company’s copyrights. This leak poses a new challenge for Mr. Musk, who, since purchasing the platform in October last year, has reduced Twitter’s workforce by over a third and seen a decline in advertisers.

Despite this, Elon Musk is involved in numerous other ventures, such as Neuralink, a company that intends to fuse human brains with artificial intelligence. He has earned various accolades and awards for his contributions to technology and business, including Germany’s Order of Merit of Baden-Württemberg, one of the country’s highest honors.

According to technology news sites Platformer and the Information, the estimation of the company’s value was based on Mr. Musk’s offer of stock grants to staff, as he reportedly indicated that Twitter’s value is now below $20 billion.

According to reports, Mr. Musk expressed to his staff that he envisions a challenging yet feasible path towards a valuation of over $250 billion for Twitter, which would signify an increase of over ten times the current valuation. In response to a request for comment from the BBC, Twitter’s press office email account automatically replied with a poo emoji, a tactic that Mr.

Musk had previously announced in a tweet earlier this month. Elon Musk, the CEO of several companies including Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, and The Boring Company, is known for his innovative and future-oriented approach to business and has become one of the most influential figures in the tech industry.
